A little about Sir Clive
My cat Sir Clive left for good. He was the adorable kitty
that gave me and my wife comfort and tons of joy.
He came into our lives 7 years ago after leaving a neighbors home because
the dogs were torturing him. When we moved here in 2004, he was the first to
greet us and harbored himself in our 2nd bedroom for awhile until I moved
him back outside, that was 12 yrs ago. In 2009 he came back here and lived
under our back deck and hissed at us for months, until my wife started to
feed him, he was very thin, the dogs were eating his food at the other
house. Our house finally became his residence and he occasionally went back
over to see what was going on, we never prohibited his former family from
his visits or from visiting here to see him.
2 years later he developed grand mal seizures, every month lasting a maximum
of 2 minutes averaging about a minute. They were horrifying for him and us.
We put him on medication, it helped a little, but after a couple of years,
he wouldn't touch the bitter medicine. Seizures did not get worse until this
past year, they started to increase, and he began nervous tics that ranged
from small to body size jolts. There was no pain, but he knew and we knew
this was the end. We knew he was getting sicker.
We brought in a mobile vet and had him tested, he came down with
hyperthyroidism and we started him on that medication. Doc thought the
seizures and tics might go away on meds. He did not like that one bit
either. Within one week, he disappeared without a trace, no hair, no body,
nothing. I searched the desert, the roads, the animal shelters, nothing.
He was my best friend, we both loved each other and he would purr just at
the sight of me in the room. He was very happy, but in the end, he knew he
could no longer take his illness. He was a very kind and gentle cat to all
who knew him. I will miss him GREATLY.
Have a gentle ride home my friend. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
God Bless My Bestest Buddy Sir Clive.
